Recently, the 300-ton Mining Truck Whole Vehicle Domesticization R&D project, co-developed by CHN Energy’s Zhunneng Group and Inner Mongolia North Hauler Joint Stock Company Ltd., passed inspection by an expert panel. The domestically produced 300-ton mining truck has been in operation at Zhunneng Group’s Haerwusu Open-pit Coal Mine since July 2023. After undergoing prolonged and intensive testing, it has demonstrated significant energy-saving benefits along with efficient, stable and reliable performance, providing robust support for the safe production of open-pit coal mines.
Domestically Produced 300-ton Mining Truck
During the research and development process, the project team focused on achieving breakthroughs in the power transmission system and incorporated innovative elements from various components, resulting in significant advances in several key technological areas. The project has produced a total of 18 innovative outcomes, successfully overcoming multiple core technological bottlenecks, realizing technological self-reliance in the mining truck sector, and promoting the sustainable development of China’s mining truck industry.
In recent years, Zhunneng Group has effectively leveraged its advantages in technology, capital and talent by forming a collaborative innovation team with leading domestic enterprises from industry, academia and research. This joint effort has resolved critical challenges, such as those involving high-power diesel engines and electric drive systems, and has provided strong equipment support for the modernization of China’s mining industry.
